About me
I am Hani Hussein, system administrator, cloud engineer and software developer from Vienna. I have been self-employed since 2018, running hosting infrastructure (since 2025 as KernelHost GmbH) and taking on IT assignments for companies.

It all started in 2013 with a cloud gaming project that I led for five years: Java, databases, proxy systems and many game servers that had to run reliably. In 2018 that became KernelHost, a GmbH since 2025 with its own autonomous system, own IP space, DDoS protection and several hundred servers in the Frankfurt data centre.
In parallel I studied Computer Science and Digital Communications at FH Campus Wien (Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 2023), completed the Cisco Networking Academy and kept deepening my knowledge of cloud architecture. As an employed system administrator I additionally looked after several hundred servers of a Viennese company: virtualisation with XCP-ng and Proxmox, Docker Swarm, Dell switches, OPNsense, high availability with HAProxy and Keepalived.
Since September 2026 I hold the Austrian professional title Ingenieur. More important than titles, however, is that your systems run: documented in a traceable way, cleanly automated and built so that you do not depend on me.
How I work
If something does not make sense, I say so. Better a small working system than a big promise.
Every change is recorded so that your team or another provider can continue at any time.
Access, updates and backups are part of every project, not an add-on at the end.
